Looks like y'all are working on a combo smoke/CO alarm?

While perusing FCC filings I noticed the following original equipment application from a few months ago:

U9K-CA0020 Smoke/CO Alarm

I have a ton of questions that I know you can't answer so for now I'll leave you with this comment:

Please please please don't even think about releasing this unless it has the capability to link with other units so that if one goes off, they all go off. This is required by code pretty much everywhere in the US and it means even if we buy SS smoke/CO detectors we still have to buy additional smoke/CO detectors that link in order to meet code. I've seen people raise this issue multiple times for at least a year and there's no reason, no reason at all, that any new smoke or CO (or smoke AND CO) detectors shouldn't have this functionality.

@worthing I saw that a while ago and sent in an email to SS; I don't have to tell you the response....All Quiet on the Western Front....

@captain11  Oh I knew better than to ask any questions. (Outside of the functionality listed above, I'm most curious if this is going to be for SS3 or SS4...)  I really really hope someone high enough up the food chain to make decisions is listening to feedback. (And obviously also hoping the feedback is reaching them...)

Whenever SS4 drops, with Matter support, there better be a LOT of the fixes/functionality we've been asking for here for years for their hardware and software. Honestly, I'm extremely anxious that we're not going to see much (or possibly any) of the fixes/functionality we've been asking for here for years in the SS4 generation. If that's the case there's zero chance I'll upgrade and I'll drop monitoring to the bare minimum and start looking elsewhere.
