Installing new windows

We are having new windows installed. How do we remove the sensors from the old windows and reinstall in the new windows?

Hi @jajohn1469 ,

For the main Entry Sensor piece, you just want to slide the sensor itself off the mounting bracket. Here's a guide to show you which direction, depending on orientation:

Once done, you'll see the mounting bracket, which is likely held in place by the adhesive strip. You just want to pull gently but firmly on the adhesive tab until it stretches and loses grip. Like so:
And finally, for the magnet, you can wiggle it from side to side, and eventually the adhesive will give way:

Assuming you are talking about SS sensors, unscrew (for screws) or pull off (for tape).  Once off, then reattach them.

Is replacement tape needed? And if so, can I acquire this from SS?

@zebraboys​ You can get the tape a lot quicker at Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowes etc. They are just 3M command strips.  BTW, for motion or glass break sensors in corners, highly recommend spending a bit more and get the velcro strips. Addresses uneven walls nicely. And yes, you can call SS support and they will send them to you too, usually at no charge.
