Glassbreak sensor placement
I recently purchased two glassbreak sensors to place near entry doors with glass cut-outs. I placed the sensors in the corner of the rooms to the SIDE of the doors within 3 feet of the glass. However, I noticed when installing that the Simplisafe app recommended placing the sensors directly facing the glass. Do you think these sensors are close enough to the glass that they don't have to be directly across from the glass? Or should I re-position them? I don't really have any good spots across from one of the doors, though for the other door I could place the sensor on a shelf about 10 feet away directly across from it. Just want to make sure that my current installation isn't useless!

To test Simplisafe way: put your system in test. Push test button on top of sensor. Walk up near window and clap your hands. Base should say "glass break sensor" and if you have push alerts on you will get notice.
My way: borrow neighbor's old windows after they got new ones installed (I got 5 of them), got a drop cloth on kitchen floor in front of bay windws, set system via my phone to home, and then hit hammer on window to break the glass. Yep , it worked fine and I am sure your's will too. BTW, my wife is not a big fan of my testing methodology.
Please post your outcome here if you get a chance.

The Glassbreak Sensor is designed to trigger for a specific sequence of sounds - a low pitched thud followed by a high-pitched crash. So thunder shouldn't be a problem, and not even just dropping a glass on the floor would do it. It has the be the very specific sound profile of windows being smashed in.

@johnnyM speaking from experience, during very large, severe thunderstorms the glassbreaks will, unfortunately, set off the alarm (I am talking huge storms which we have occasionally in the midwest). Luckily, it has only happened twice in going on 4 years with SS3.
