entry sensors one flight of stairs down

If I go down a single flight of stairs from the base station (which is exposed / not hidden in the main living room) - the entry sensors don't seem to respond properly.  Is this just not the system for me?  Does it only work for really tiny apartments?  Seems odd to go down a flight of stairs and sensors fail.  Are there any solutions like having a base station repeater or having a more expensive longer range sensor etc?  Or is this just for tiny homes.  Kind of stinks to have spent $600-$700 at this point if there are no solutions.

Hi @matt_e82d9b,

I'm a little puzzled about what you mean. Are you saying that you have your Base Station upstairs, and your Entry Sensors are downstairs - and the Base Station is not able to receive signals from them?

Our sensors are able to reach around 800ft over open air, and in a typical home, they should be able to work at even half that distance. But because they are wireless, a big impact on their range is interference. For example, physical interference caused by dense physical objects literally getting in the way of the signal.

So you want to identify what objects are in between your Base Station and those sensors. Dense materials like brick, stone flooring, and under-floor heating could all do a lot to block signals.

It might still be possible for those sensors to reach the Base Station, if the Base were in a different spot. So I would suggest temporarily trying a few different positions.
