Entry sensor triggered by motion detector?

I had a false alarm today that I think was triggered by a high wind blowing through a partially open window and causing the curtain to fly up. However, I noticed the entry delay was triggered about a minute before the alarm. Why did that happen? I thought the only reason the entry delay would be triggered would be from a door opening.

Hi @1robmacias,

The Entry Delay is the amount of time before your system's siren sounds and our monitoring center is notified when an active sensor is tripped. The Entry Delay pertains to all of our burglary sensors (Entry, Motion, and Glassbreak.) So if your system is armed and one of these sensors is tripped, you should see the Entry Delay in your timeline.

Thanks. I tried to get an answer to this question via the chat. Not sure if that's just a bot or what, but it never gave me a clear answer.

@1robmacias any possibllity that the door was rattled in the wind? If your gap is close or greater than a certain width it could cause the entry sensor to trip. Also, as far as window, whether opened or closed, the sun would be more of a factor. I have a motion sensor in every room on the ground floor and one in each bedroom. From experience, none of them are pointed towards a window due to the sun effect. Recommend they be placed in corners facing in.  If you call support they can provide assistance.  I emailed my house floor plan with sensor type and placement and SS support was very helpful in recommendatons, most of which I implemented.

good luck.

If I read correctly and you have the entry delay set, motion detectors are sensors and also probably initiate an entry delay if triggered. All my sensors are all set for instant trigger. No delays.
