Entry sensor placement

We have large trim around our doors so the sensors will not be right next to each other and slightly off. Will the affect placement? They will be within 2 inches; however our trim just makes it a challenge to have them butt up again eat each other. Would appreciate the help.

@gregg.switzer I just finished installing an expanded SS3 system for my daughter and son-in-law in their "new" house that was built in the early 1900's.  They too, besides beautiful lead windows and intricate built ins also have extremely wide, multi leveled woodwork all around the house, including the windows.

1st, remember that the entry sensors can be mounted in a variety of ways. The magnet can go on the window frame or magnet, with the sensor body on the other (doesn't matter).  Also, they can be mounted "upside down" but make sure either way you have enough room to remove the main unit cover so you can change the battery when needed.  Also, if absolutely necessary, you can mount the sensor on the window sill and the other on the window itself.

I also used multiple glass break sensors to use "layers of security". Unfortunately, with two cats and a 20 month old they can't reliably use motion sensors.

You can call SS for assistance.  They are a friendly lot and appears hold times are improving.  As far as the alignment, as long as the blue light consistently blinks, the magnet can be a bit off.

Finally, you can always provide a link to post a picture of the molding and forum members can make suggestions
