Door sensor not registering first opening
I have a door magnetic sensor on a door in my house, when I open the door it clearly register and the base station makes to corresponding noise. However, when I set the alarm to away, then open the door when I get home from work the initial opening does not set off the alarm.. but when I close it again the sensor then registers and the alarm begins to count down as it should. Is this a common issue? Is there something I can do? An alarm system that doesn’t notice a door opening is clearly problematic!

Just to confirm, does this behavior only happen when your system is armed in Away Mode? Is does this happen in Home Mode as well? Do you have any other Entry Sensors that exhibit this same behavior, or is it just this one device?
It seems to me that there may be some form of interference getting in the way between the Entry Sensor and Base Station, causing this delayed response. How far away is the Entry Sensor from the Base Station? And are there any thick walls/appliances between the two devices? It could help to move the Base Station a little closer to the Entry Sensor, and put it in an open space, to minimize any interference between the devices.
If you have more than one Entry Sensor, it can also help to swap this sensor with another one and try opening both of them. This can give us a better idea if this is caused by the device itself, or if its the location of the sensor.
