Delete Keypad Warning Messages

I have a Simply Safe keypad. Model SSKP3. Serial number 017dce54. Firmware version 2.13.8. Loader 1.0.0.

Ever since a firmware update a year or two ago, you can't delete warning messages with the Delete button anymore. How am I supposed to delete them now?

Hey there @heat8848

The "X" symbol on messages that can be deleted should still be there. Other messages won't go away until the system is resolved. If it doesn't clear putting the system into home and then back to off can resend the signals to have the messages cleared.

No. It's not there.

The Delete button is illuminated in other areas of the settings, but not where you read the messages. That's been the case for a year or two. I assume they did that on purpose or it would've been fixed by now. Why did they do it?😕

But I fixed it. The problem was alot of the alarm sensors around my house had dead batteries(6 out of 7). I replaced the batteries and all the alarm messages went away. I wasn't paying attention to them because the date on the messages were the first time they were sent. 3 months in some cases. I thought the old dates meant the problem was resolved and the messages needed to be deleted. If an alert message still applies, it should be dated the day you read it.

There's one thing I'm confused by. 1 sensor was reporting low battery and the rest reported not responding. They were all fixed by replacing the battery. I don't think I ever got a low battery message about the sensors that reported as not responding.😕

Also, why wasn't SimplySafe HQ warning me about the alarm sensors not responding since alot of them weren't responding and weren't responding for a long time? Does that only happen with a more expensive-type tier of service?

I just had a thought. Maybe the keypad only allows you to delete certain types of messages and I just haven't gotten those types of messages since the last time I deleted one, and messages about alarm censors can only be deleted by the keypad when they're resolved.

If this is the case, it needs to be added to the Help documentation. I've seen other people complain about not being able to delete messages. Maybe in here somewhere. I was trying to find the complaint, but I can't.

My apologies if my message wasn't clear, but that is exactly what I am saying. Only certain types of messages can be deleted. The other types of messages must be fixed for the message to go away. I will pass that suggestion along, because knowing which messages can and can't be deleted may be of some use to people.

You can also put the system into test mode to have the individual devices send a signal to the Base to update the status of the device. If that doesn't work removing the device and adding it back. I'm unable to answer the question "Why did they do it?" because that is not something that was done.
