Configure Motion sensor to different wireless access point

Can Gen 3 motion sensors be configured to a different access point within the same network like the indoor cameras? My cameras work great in the remote areas (where the access points are) but the motion sensors continuously drop offline. I believe it is because they are only trying to connect to the main router a good distance away and not the access point.

Hi @60leary1 ,

The way that SimpliSafe works is that all sensors report to the Base Station, through local RF (rather than WiFi). Unfortunately, there can be only one Base Station per system.

But the sensors also have a range of up to 500ft over open air. Assuming that the Motion Sensor in question is within that range, we'd want to troubleshoot sources of interference that can get in the way of that communication.

The typical causes of interference can be dense physical obstructions, like brick or adobe walls, or metallic siding. Or it could be other wireless signals that are competing for the same airspace - think simple devices like remote controlled garage door openers. We would want to identify all the possible causes and decrease their effects one by one.
