Changing better for water sensor

My water sensor is the rectangular shape one. I couldn’t find any instructions on changing the battery for this particular model.

At 8:27 pm last night, I got a “water sensor not responding” email message. I removed the sensor from the bracket, then got a “sensor restored” email message.
I took off the screws and want to remove the back panel to look at the battery type. I have no idea how to take it apart. Need help.

Thank you for your reply. After going through the posts, I found the answer. I can’t find the exact post to post it here. According to the SS person who replied, a very small flathead screwdriver is needed to pry it apart. It worked. Very easy to pull apart. The battery required is a lithium CR2450 3V. (In case anyone is wondering, the SS3 water sensor battery is CR-2032 Lithium 3V).

Putting it back without seeing the back is next to impossible. I had to remove the bracket (from the cabinet where it was adhered to) and reassembling it. Having removed it, the adhesive no longer works. Instead of digging up another adhesive, would it be okay to simply place the water sensor on the floor horizontally with both metal prongs ends resting on the floor?

Btw, this water sensor works great. If I get a little water in the floor by accident, it triggers an alarm every time. I have it by the washing machine.

@Safetyfirst Glad it worked out for you. Yes, you can put directly on the floor without issue. That is how I had my SS2 water sensors and, yep, that's exactly how I use my current 4 SS3 water sensors.  I do know two other customers that put their water sensors on a small piece of cardboard  so dampness doesn't set them off.  Have a great day.

@Safetyfirst I believe you are describing a SS2 water sensor. The metal sensor prongs at the bottom end of the sensor must be moved to their full extended position. From there, my memory fails me and, alas, the instructions from what I can tell are not in the Help Center. (I sent an email requesting SS adds it).

A quick call to Support 888-910-1458 option 3 will get you to a friendly, knowledgeable support agent that will gladly assist you.  They are open daily from 9am to midnight Eastern. My apologies for not being too much help but I have not had a SS2 system for quite some time. Good luck.
