Change the alarm tone
Is it possible to change the alarm tone/pitch? I tried an alarm trigger just to see how it sounded and did not go well for my animals! Both are rescues and this sound sent them scattering.
For example, When the battery goes low on my smoke detectors, they do that high pitched chirp. My dogs tremble at that pitch.
if it can’t be changed, this system will not work for us.

That's very unfortunate! Yes, unfortunately there is currently just the one alarm tone from the Base Station. Perhaps you can try lowering the siren volume in the Settings to be less upsetting to your pets?
Or you can maybe not have the siren active at all. If you have the SimpliSafe app on your phone, you'll still get notifications for all alarm events. And of course, if an alarm involves monitoring dispatch, you'll also get a phone call from an agent to let you know.

I may in fact NOT use the audible alarm module stand alone piece since it requires constant battery replacement. Before turning that module off I’m trying to move it closer to the base and place it in an area not subject to reduced ambient temperatures.

I’m hearing impaired and cannot hear the high frequency spectrum. Has SimpliSafe improved the choices yet? (2024)
