attaching entry sensors

Just got my system.  The entry sensors keep falling off.  Apparently the sticky not working.  These NEED to be screwed on?

Some tips.

If using the sticky pads - get some cheap alcohol wipes, wipe area down, let it dry, then it will stick and not move.  Thats what I did and it worked a treat.

I did exactly this and they keep falling.  three out of five of them.  I don't want to use screws in woodwork and metal doors.

Hold the sensor in place for 30 seconds helps too.

Or get some super sticky tape (3M or other) that works better.

Am I the only one with this issue?

I bought some 3M double sticky tape after one entry sensor fell down.

Cost less than $8 for a roll.  I think mine was called EXTRA STRONG, but it may have been overkill

Many people don't have problems with their own bought 3M tape (SS sends systems out with really cheap sticky tape, at least for SS3 - for SS2, they sent out decent tapes) - as long as prep is done correctly, as noted above.

I have all mine screwed in - since I own my home and don't plan on moving, it's not an issue, and I never worry about false alarms due to a sensor falling because of the sticky tape.

We upgraded 9/18 and two days later the door/window sensors started falling off. I found the tape they were supplying was to thin to allow the full surface of the tape to stick to the frames due to the raised ridges on the switch prortion of the sensor. The original 3M tape they used to use was much thicker so it received full surface adhesion. I'm sure this was a cost cutting decision but proved to be a bad one. I screwed all of them on and eliminated this issue . I always clean the surface with alcohol but didn't help with this flaw.
