alarm activation -unexplained
I came home with the dog and went into garden, dog also in garden. a little while later the alarm activated. House still locked, had to unlock to cancel alarm

can motion sensors be affected by late strong evening sun ?

I'm sorry to hear that you experienced a false alarm, but I'm glad to know that everyone is okay! Our Motion Sensors are the infrared type, so they're triggered by heat sources moving through a room. Due to this, direct sunlight can trigger a false alarm.
To prevent any future false alarms, I would try moving this Motion Sensor into a corner of the room so it won't get hit by direct sunlight throughout the day.
