The SimpliSafe Smart Alarm Wireless Indoor Security Camera is a battery-operated security camera that’s designed for indoor use. It records at 1536p and has a wide field of view at 125 degrees. The battery in the Smart Alarm Indoor Camera can also last up to 3 months on a single charge.
Before Getting Started:
You’ll want to unbox your Smart Alarm Indoor Camera and plug it into power to charge it prior to installation. You also have the option to install the camera while it is plugged into an outlet; however, we recommend you fully charge the camera before placing it in its final location.
You will need the following tools before installing your Smart Alarm Indoor Camera:
USB Power Adapter (5V, 7.5W minimum)
Phillips head screwdriver
You'll also need to make sure that your Base Station and Keypad are running the latest software versions. You can check for any updates by using the Keypad and looking for a gear icon, or by going to Menu > Enter Master PIN > System Settings > Check For Updates

How to Check Your Smart Alarm Indoor Camera’s Connection Strength
If your Smart Alarm Indoor Camera is not connecting after you install it, you should check its connection strength by using the Connection Check tool within the SimpliSafe® mobile app by taking the following steps:
Tap the “Cameras” icon at the bottom of the SimpliSafe® mobile app
Choose the gear icon in the upper right corner
Select your camera
Under “Connection” select “Connection Check”
Tap “Start Connection Check” to find your camera’s connection strength
Using your results, you can improve your Smart Alarm Indoor Camera’s connection with the tips below.
Camera Requirements:
Signal strength should be above -55dBm. A lower number means a greater connection between your camera and router.
If you have a low signal strength, you can try to troubleshoot your Wi-Fi network and improve your signal strength.
Upload speed needs to be above 2Mbps for 1536p video
If your upload speed is below 2Mbps, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to upgrade your internet package.
If your upload speed is exactly 2Mbps, you should take these steps to improve your upload speed.
