Error: Camera Connection Dropped

Updated

What It Means

If you see a Camera Connection Dropped error on your Outdoor Camera, it’s likely either due to a low or dead battery, or the camera is unable to connect to Wi-Fi. Please note that SimpliSafe systems and cameras require 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks.

How To Fix It

  1. Remove the battery from your camera and charge it with the USB charging cord that it came with. You will know that the Outdoor Camera’s battery is fully charged once the three LED lights are illuminated.

  2. Confirm that your camera is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network and that the name and password for the network have been entered correctly. You can do this by accessing the camera’s settings in the SimpliSafe mobile app.

  3. Try bringing the camera and your internet router close together, as too far a distance between them can weaken the Outdoor Camera’s connection to your system and cause this error.

  4. Restart your router and/or mesh accent points and Wi-Fi extenders.

  5. Try bringing your Outdoor Camera and Base Station closer together, as too far a distance between them can weaken the Outdoor Camera’s connection to your system and cause this error.

If this error persists, you may need to contact your Internet Service Provider to inquire about service availability and interruptions, and about upgrading your internet package and/or router.
