What Is A Duress PIN?

The Duress PIN is used to instantly notify emergency responders that you are under duress. When this PIN is entered on the Keypad, we’ll request dispatch from the police immediately (and disarm the system to fool intruders).

You can create, edit, or delete the Duress PIN on your SimpliSafe® Mobile App or Keypad using the steps below.

Creating A Duress PIN

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

1. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

2. Next, select Location Settings from the menu

3. Scroll down and select PINs

4. Under Add Duress PIN type in your four-digit sequence

5. Tap Done to save it before exiting

Keypad:

1. Push the Menu button

2. Enter your Primary PIN

3. Scroll up to PINs and select Add Duress Pin

4. Type in your new four-digit sequence and hit Set

Changing Your Duress Pin

If you would like to change your Duress PIN, you can do so on the SimpliSafe® Mobile App or Keypad

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

1. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

2. Next, select Location Settings from the menu

3. Scroll down and select PINs

4. Click Duress PIN

5. Tap into the PIN field to make it active. Type the new four-digit PIN you wish to use

6. Press Done in the upper right corner before exiting

Keypad:

1. Push the Menu button

2. Enter your Primary PIN

3. Scroll up to PINs and navigate to Duress PIN

4. Push Edit and enter a new four-digit pin

Removing Your Duress PIN

If you decide you would like to remove your Duress PIN, you can do so on the SimpliSafe® mobile app or Keypad.

SimpliSafe® Mobile App:

1. Choose My System from the bottom navigation bar

2. Next, select Location Settings from the menu

3. Scroll down and select PINs

4. Click Duress PIN

5. Tap Remove Duress PIN on the bottom of the screen to delete it

Keypad:

1. Push the Menu button

2. Enter your Primary PIN

3. Scroll up to PINs and navigate to Duress PIN

4. Scroll down to Remove and press OK
