SimpliSafe keeps you protected 24/7!
In the event of a power outage, your SimpliSafe Base Station is equipped with a backup rechargeable battery supply that will keep your Base Station powered for up to 24 hrs. It also features a cellular module that operates on a cellular network instead of WiFi. The Base Station will automatically communicate on the cellular network if your WiFi stops working and will automatically switch to battery power if you lose electricity.
If you've been a customer since 2019 or earlier, it may be time to update your cellular module to ensure your home remains protected in the event of a power outage. Please visit this article to make sure that your SimpliSafe system is up to date with the latest cellular technology.
What if I lose power for more than 24 hours?
Though we recommend contacting support if you need to change the batteries in your Base Station, if your power outage lasts longer than 24 hours, you can replace your Base Station's rechargeable batteries with different rechargeable batteries. It is important not to place regular, single-use batteries in the Base Station as this can negatively impact the device.
