Motion sensor install

Can I mount the motion sensor 7' off of the floor? The directions say mount 4-5' off of the floor.

You can mount it any height you want.  However, the higher you mount it, the larger the "dead zone" underneath it will be.

Mine is 6 feet off the ground and works as soon as we walk in the living room and the one in the hallway is 4 feet from ground but yes the higher you go the less chance it will see anything. I personally would not go any higher than 6 feet.
