anyway to alarm a freezer if it gets too warm, say about 20F?

@plcdanahy Our Temperature Sensor's alarm above range (aka, the temperature you want to be notified of to know that a room is getting too warm) is 35-127° F. Unfortunately, that setting does not go as low as 20° F. 

 

It is also worth noting that putting the Temperature Sensor (or any SimpliSafe® sensor for that matter) in an appliance like a freezer could impact that sensor's communication with the Base Station. SimpliSafe® sensors communicate to the Base Station through radio frequency, and that radio signal could have trouble passing through the thick metal of a freezer.

If properly designed, only the temperature sensor needs to be "inside" at the low temperatures (e.g. -20 Deg F).

The wifi unit could be attached to the outside of the freezer (or on a nearby wall) with the sensor connected with a thin ribbon like cable that could pass underneath the door seal (and still maintain seal integrity). There are many commercial units like this, but of course none compatible with SimpliSafe. Alarm should trigger if temperature rises above a set point (e.g. -10 Deg F to +45 Deg F)
