Problem setting up smart lock

Hi,

When trying to set up my smart lock it seems like my deadbolt tail piece is not long enough to reach the smart lock adapter. I reached out to simplisafe and they offered to send me some additional adapters, but if the only difference is the shape I don't see how that will help. Has anyone else faced this issue and found a solution? Unfortunately I am a renter so cannot make any significant changes to the deadbolt itself.

I'm sorry to hear this! Using a different adapter wouldn't help here, as it's the length of the tailpiece that is the issue, not the shape. I does unfortunately sound like the Smart Lock is not compatible with your deadbolt. I would recommend installing a different deadbolt, but I know that you rent so that isn't entirely feasible. Of course, if you purchased the Smart Lock from us, we can help with a return for refund!
