Time for a wireless doorbell solution
Unfortunately the "door chime" kit didn't address the issue and I have a dead Doorbell pro at my daughter's house. I know what you are thinking SimpliSafe: Call us back, we will trouble shoot and if necessary send you a replacement doorbell pro". That would be nice of you, but here is the reality: The house was built in the 1920's with the wiring to match and I have no clue where the wiring goes. A wireless digital doorbell fits the bill (need) and would love for it to be SimpliSafe but after years of waiting and the need is now, gasp, I have to pay Amazon $127 for a doorbell camera wireless unit and a digital chime.
I remain a loyal long time customer, and would to keep my daughter's system all under one roof, but next week is the time to get this done.

Update on the Eufy E340 doorbell and chime install. Cliff notes version: Good price for both, installation instructions do not match the actual process and the app is only so so...but it works and exists. SimpliSafe install process in the phone app and overall GUI is vastly superior. We will see how the battery life goes.

Kirk, have you gone over to the 🌚⚫ dark side? 🤧 😲🤔 😂 Have a transporter malfunction? Hitting that Saurian brandy too hard? (Teasing.)
Happy it's working out so far for ya's.
At least a taste of newer, more modern technology.😉
I have two of the SS doorbells. In the history both show 30 to 40 bad videos out of 123ish detections over 30 days. Repeatedly. That's about 1/3+, very bad for security or anything else.
They havent changed much over two years, always been unreliable. Well, the first two were even worse.
I might opt for the cheap Wyze V2 powered doorbells. At $45 ea, they're disposable. Maybe replace this unreliable stuff before winter. Or POE and Reolink, but theirs is b&w night vision.🤢
They have a duo with package detection for about $85 but my deliveries aren't really an issue here, no porch pirates yet for the out in the country bumpkin.
Good luck with the Eufy, if battery is an issue depending on detections, get a voltmeter and check for voltage. (If you haven't )
Look behind the old chime or in it, near the furnace, in the attic if one exists, for the transformer. It may be bad.
