Temperature Monitoring Enhancement

We had an extended power failure that lasted almost 4 days about a month ago due to a storm damaging the local utility lines.

I have two temperature sensors:

  • One that is intended to let me know if the temp gets cold enough to freeze our water pipes.
  • A second sensor in a room that needs to be kept warm (think 80 degrees year-round) for some animals that are temperature sensitive.

The temperature-sensitive room is partially insulated.  Naturally, with the power outage, we kept the room closed and avoided opening the door to minimize heat loss.  The base unit did report the power outage.

Eventually, we did start to receive the low temp notification alert - unfortunately, the notification does not include the actual temperature reading...   ....and the phone app appears to only show the last temperature read before the power outage.  Until we realized this, we were under the impression that the room was warmer than it actually was.  Due to regulatory permit requirements, these animals cannot be just moved elsewhere.

My requests:

  1. Update the temperature alerts to include the measured actual high/low temperature - since the unit must know the actual temp to trigger the alert in the first place
  2. Update the app to show the last time the temperature was measured - I understand that in low power mode, some features cannot be supported but was surprised that the values did not update.
