Real Life need for a digital wireless doorbell camera!

When you place dozens upon dozens of SimpliSafe systems over the years, family members are going to be in the mix for sure. This one is my daughter and son-in-law's system my wife and I purchased for a home warming gift for their first condo about 5 years ago. And then moving it to their "new" house built around 1923!  Installed a SS Doorbell Pro and worked fine for the past 3 years and then a humming chime unit and no video. The ancient wiring and of course no clue where the transformer was, I bought a new chime unit and, unfortunately, no dice. Called support and their answer was a new "chime kit aka capacitor" that just arrived yesterday but I am going out of town for a week. When I get back will try it but not too optimistic and either the "hidden" transformer has to be replaced and/or a burnt out doorbell pro, or worst, new wiring?  

SimpliSafe, a nice new Doorbell Pro 2, digital and wireless, would sure make all of this moot, and thought it was as good as any time to put my hat in the ring requesting this product.  Many customers have made the request over the years, so add me and about a dozen other customers I have polled on the subject. Oldest post I could find with SS saying it was submitted as an official product request was over two years ago.
