Yes, we do already offer some integration with both Amazon's Alexa, and Google Assistant - as part of the $24.99 Interactive Monitoring Plan. Right now that integration is limited to sharing access so that you can check the status of the system, as well as arm via voice command.
HomeKit integration is a larger undertaking. Of course, if we ever launch this feature, we'll make sure that you know!
So back in November of 2019 The Verge reported that "SimpliSafe has announced that it plans to support HomeKit at some point" according to https://www.theverge.com/2019/11/21/20975042/abode-iota-apple-homekit-support-update-release-iphone-ipad-mac .
Your comment above says "if we ever launch this feature" which sounds like it's not on anyone's to do list. Can you confirm whether this is being worked on or not or is on a road map of any kind?
I have Simplisafe working with Homekit using Home Assistant. All that is needed is ability to enable or disable the alarm thru a homekit automation and operate the Simplisafe locks., I really don't think full blown Homekit set up and integration is needed.
It must already be on the SS roadmap, but current lack of HomeKit integration is painful. Every light, TV, speaker, lock, camera, etc. in my house is integrated with my Apple HomeKit configuration making automations and notifications a breeze. Except for one that is. I have been using a Home Bridge with a GitHub plugin as a workaround, but it leaves A LOT to be desired.
If your looking for HomeKit integration you can do it with a HOOBS Homebridge Hub. Makes it easy to add Simplisafe to HomeKit using the Simplisafe3 plugin available in the HOOBS library, Including the Simplisafe Base Station as well as cameras and accessories where the can interact with other HomeKit devices.
This plugin supports:
Real time event streaming: get immediate notifications anytime the alarm is armed / disarmed / triggered.
Sensors: always be on top of your home with immediate access to the sensor status. Create smart automations directly from the Home app (e.g. when the front door is opened, turn the lights on).
Cameras: view your SimpliCams directly from the Home app, receive doorbell notifications and motion snapshots.
Battery monitoring: the Home app will notify you if the battery level of one of your sensors is low.
I've been using it for over a year without any problems, plus it allowed me to downgrade monitoring service to the standard plan saving $10.00 a month.
HOOBS HomeKit Bridge Simplisafe3 plugin supports all the functions Simplisafe promised when it was first introduced but never delivered on...
Alarm arm/disarm ‚úÖ Home, away and off modes
SimpliCam ‚úÖ Audio, video, motion*, no microphone
Doorbell ‚úÖ Audio, video, motion, no microphone
Smart lock ‚úÖ
Entry sensor ‚úÖ
Smoke detector ‚úÖ Includes support for tamper & fault
CO detector ‚úÖ Includes support for tamper & fault
Water sensor ‚úÖ
Freeze sensor ‚úÖ Supports temperature readings, not sensor trigger
Motion sensor ‚úÖ Requires motion sensor set to "Secret Alert" or "Alarm" in SimpliSafe settings**
Glassbreak sensor ‚ùå State not provided by SimpliSafe
Keypad ‚ùå State not provided by SimpliSafe
Panic button ‚ùå State not provided by SimpliSafe
@richardericksen But will it set the system to Home, Away, Off, etc. based on who enters or leaves the house without the dreaded "This automation requires confirmation to run because it may allow entry into your home." notification?
Are you going to add HomeKit to your Integrations? You seem to support everything else including Alexa and Google Home. Resent updates with a common protocol leveling the field in this area should this possible. It is the one thing about your system that has tempted me to scrap what I have and move to Abode Iota or other options. You need to seriously look at correcting this blatant disregard for an entire segment of your customer base.

The last post for HomeKit support seems to be 2 years old, and there don't seem to be any options in the Integration module in the system. Has anyone heard anymore about SimpliSafe adding this feature?
Please add HomeKit integration. This is a feature that has been discussed for years, yet never implemented. I think you are missing a huge opportunity here as the Smart home continues to increase and more and more people are using the Apple ecosystem for all things including the Home app. I love your products but do not want to have to buy another piece of equipment from a 3rd party to get SimpliSafe to run on HomeKit. I’d rather you guys implement the integration or even put out a bridge, that I would consider.

I’m dropping SimpliSafe for lack of HomeKit integration, cheap (fragile) products, and their faulty lock which frequently does not work and threatens to trap us in our home in case of an emergency. We implemented SimpliSafe late in 2021. The experience has been abysmal. I don’t know how they get good ratings. They clearly invest more in PR than research and development.
Just bought Abode for our vacation home over SimpliSafe since they don’t and probably never will support HomeKit. Not really satisfied with SimpliSafe anyway. The quality is very cheap and it constantly, but randomly has warning messages about this or that sensor/lock not responding. Will likely switch main home over to Abode if I am happy with it. Could deal with the minor frustrations of the SimpliSafe system, but no HomeKit is a deal breaker.
So this week Apple announced iOS 16 with a completely revamped Home app for the connected home. As Apple says….”The Home app has an all‑new design that makes it easier to navigate, organize, view, and control ALL your accessories. Improvements to the underlying architecture enhance your smart home’s performance and make it more efficient and reliable.”
But one of the biggest things that caught my eye was Apple looking at integrating “Matter” later this year….
“Matter is a new smart home connectivity standard that will enable compatible accessories to work together seamlessly, across platforms. Matter will allow you to choose from even more compatible smart home accessories and control them with the Home app and Siri on Apple devices.”
Could this FINALLY be the chance for SimpliSafe to come to the Home App on iOS? I sure hope so, because I think many people want to have their connected homes controlled in 1 place, not multiple apps.
Video posted on January 11, 2018, about a variety of things but at about 2m10s you can hear the bit that includes the CEO mentioning homekit is coming "later this year" in 2018.
Interviewer: "At apple insider, we're big fans of homekit. so do you have you got the system working with homekit? What's the news here?"
SS CEO: "We're excited to be adding all sorts of additional integrations with this next generation system. This will include integrations with folks like apple homekit. We'll be excited to roll those out. We have a whole suite of them planned for this year as the year rolls along and are excited to add that among them."
1,641 days and counting! For what it's worth, I'm not upset they missed an estimated release date - that happens all the time. What I am upset about, and what every SS customer should be upset about, is that it's 4.5+ years on and not a single definitive official statement on the status of this. The best we've received is the standard issue, "We can't comment on future plans!"
I've been a Simplisafe customer for a few years now, however, I'm also researching alternatives due to the lack of Homekit integration. Simplisafe, if you want to keep my business, you're going to need to add Homekit to the supported platforms.
Homebridge as working flawlessly until a few days ago when they decided to change the login setup…not sure if there is a seamless work around yet.
One step forward, two steps back. SimpliSafe raised the monitoring rates this year so I’m hoping for better service and capabilities. We all hope that money is going to be well spent and you’ll be making things better and not worse.
Existing customers should be grandfathered in as an added benefit to your customer base.

The lack of HomeKit integration is another strike against this cheap substitute for a real alarm company.

Either make the app respond to Siri commands such as “good night siri” or “arm home” or “arm away” OR make it compatible with the apple HomeKit.
If it works with Alexa it should work with Siri!
