Old model entry sensors into new model system

I recently got some older model entry sensors as a gift over the holidays. I have a newer model system and was wondering if there is a way to add them to the system. The newer model sensors have a button you press to pair the sensor with the system whereas the older model sensors do not have said button. Is there a way to add them or will I have to exchange them?
