Glass break sensor won't open!

I've tried everything to open glass break sensor, even prying it with a small screwdriver. Nothing works. So frustrating! Keep getting reminders that the battery is low. HELP!!!

Yes just push up and might have to put some force into it

Brute force and it won’t budge

@jerrydamerow I find that pressing the Glassbreak Sensor between my two hands, and then moving the hand touching the front of the sensor up and moving the hand touching the sensor's back cover down, helps to remove the cover and display its battery.

I have the same exact problem.  Pushed like hell and nothing.  What the heck?

I just got two of these, just to find out, I went down in the basement and mine are not stuck to walls, picked one up looked it over, pulled down on the back mounting bracket with two fingers, while pushing a little up on the front half.

Popped right off.

Now pushing up assumes the reset button is on top of the sensor, thats the top.

If it's mounted to a wall with the sticky tape, make sure you're not also pushing on the back bracket at the same time as the front. Look at it and determine where the seams are. I think its possible folks may be pushing up on both halves.

Mine was relatively easy.

Thank you for that info.  I found out the problem with mine.  Turns out the mounting bracket is very, only maybe a sixteenth of an inch.  Mine is mounted to the ceiling.  So I could not even see the mounting bracket.  The only way to see the bracket is if you slide the device out of it.  The deceiving part is that the front cover looks like it is the part that comes off, but it is not.  Thank you for the info on which direction to push.  It will definitely come off in only one direction and the idiotic video they have of how to replace the battery does not show you which direction that is.  So I ended up having to rip mine off the ceiling, and once I did that, I was able to see how the thing came apart.  Thanks.

Same problem! Mine was never adhered to the wall. Can’t imagine trying to remove cover when device stuck to wall!

@jerrydamerow Maybe they're all different, but with mine also not mounted, reset button on the top.

I just pulled down on the back with two fingers and pushed up towards the reset button a little with the front and it just popped open, relatively easily.

@thankyoufog Is this Glassbreak Sensor mounted on a wall, or is it placed on something like a shelf?

If it's on a wall, press down on the sensor and slide it up to remove it off its bracket. If it's not mounted on the wall, I like to hold the sensor in between both of my hands. Then move the hand touching the front of the sensor up while moving the hand touching the back of the sensor down to remove the battery cover.
