Base Station says Entry Sensor open and never finishes its sentance.

Every time I use the keypad, the base station does not finish its sentence. If I let the dogs out before bed, close and lock the door, go to the keypad to set the system to Home, the base station says the entry sensor is still open. This happens EVERY night. I have done the base station hard reset, remove plug and battery. This does not work. I bought this system primarily to alert me if there is an intruder while we are in bed. I do not trust this security system. My money would have been better spent on amazon window and door alarms. I cannot even trust that SimpliSafe would send emergency dispatch. If I were to hear the alarm at night, I am not waiting for emergency services to respond or answering a text from SimpliSafe.

Hi @piratenapier,

Dlspr makes a good point, I would check to make sure that your Base Station's firmware it up to date. Also as they mentioned, incomplete voice prompts from the Base Station is a known issue that our engineers are diligently working on a solution for. In the meantime, they have found that performing a Base Station reset with a few extra steps will help to retrieve voice prompts. I know you have already tried resetting your Base Station, but I would try it again following these specific steps:

  1. Remove the power plug from the Base Station, which will reveal the security screw.
  2. Unscrew the security screw using a Philips head screwdriver.
  3. Twist the entire bottom panel counter-clockwise, and pull away to open the battery compartment.
  4. Take out one battery. This will fully power down the Base Station.
  5. Wait 3 minutes with the Base Station fully powered down.
  6. Reinsert the battery and reassemble the Base Station.

Future updates regarding this issue will be provided in this thread.
