The Base Station doesn't have an orange indicator.
But you might be seeing the red, indicating that there was a recent alarm. It should clear when you arm the system again, or if you dismiss the warning on your Keypad (by pressing on the side of the screen where the [!] icon is).
It could also be the yellow light that happens when the Base Station is updating, but the update process would require user input, so it shouldn't be able to happen on its own.
