Only WiFi network?
Is the base station capable of operating on any network other than 2G? I never see my 5G nets listed when I try to connect the WiFi at the keypad.

Yes, our components are able to connect only through the 2.4GHz WiFi band. Most of the time, WiFi networks are set up to communicate at both 2.4GHz and 5GHz (or even the newer 6GHz) at the same time, under the same name. So if you connect your devices to that network, they'll link up with whichever band is best for them.
But you mention that your SimpliSafe system isn't able to find your WiFi networks at all, so they might be set for 5GHz only. I would suggest looking into your router's settings (or working with your ISP/router manufacturer) to determine if that's the case.
