Are they SS? Only as expected?

And As expected & compared to what?

This morning she's watering things all around the house outside.

From the disarm of SS rhis morning here, I counted all SS motion detections today in the time line. 41. Overall comparison?

My cheap cams returns said My Day, 127 events, all person detections.

How far do SS cams see? Max 30 feet daytime. And PIR mostly. At night less on night vision only. (Exception cars, tree limbs, bushes, etc if pointed up that they're not supposed to see)

How far do cheap cams see? Telephotos sees person at about 100 feet+-, vehicles out to 150+- feet. Estimated only.

Cheap cams are pixal detection, everytime pixals changes fully, or ai sees person, its a detection. Accuracy unknown, I have to take both apps word for it.

Regular cheap cams can see me at 50+- or more feet coming back from the mailbox.

Cheap cams block all cars in driveway and in the road. "Never detects cars" unless I check that box.

Easily stick cheap cams inside house, in stick on rubber window mounts looking out. Ambient motion lights on exterior.

SS can't see thru windows very good, if at all.

Cost, SS OD cost me about $189+- each times 4. Threw in one free total 5, I declined a Simplicam. Two SS doorbells @ $169ish each.

Cheap cams $25 to $40ish each.

Warranty & service, chat, etc. a wrangle for both, SS & cheap cams subbed out, similar foreign service in the Philippines or other country. At least with cheap cams you can email service and handle it that way.

SS night vison even in 1080p, max, is pathetic.

Cheap cams see in color with ambient light solar motion lights. SS can too if configured similarly & properly.

SS pick up animal's? not so much or very often. For me. A cat right in front of it occasionally.

Cheap cams detect all animal (pets detection) that are in range.

SS cams smoke & CO alarm listeners? No.

I know their building a listener, expect another rate in increase. Lol 

SS cams detect gunshots? window break, etc etc etc. No.

Cheap cams, supposedly Yes. No breaking or shooting to find out, either brand.

SS cams detect garage doors open or closed. No.

Cheap cams, V4 anyhow, yes.

Configure SS cams to say, you are being recorded, during night hours? No.

Cheap cams Yes.

SS have SD 24/7 recordings free to SD. None. No. Cloud only, must pay.

Cheaps cams, Yes. every one of recent.

vintage. Free.

SS provide time lapse videos? No.

Cheap cams yes, caught some nice auroras etc. at night.

SS cams have a video time/date stamp for proof of evidence. Not yet.

Cheap cams? Yes.

Cheap cams with Cam unlimited up to 99 cameras for $99 annually. Get all smart detections.

SS, 10 cam limit.

Cheap cams need an RF wake up signal? No. Wifi only, almost instantaneous live views h detections.

I can't compare to SS USB powered, will never have any. But they still need RF wake up. Faster per your observations. Instantaneous or almost? Not to my knowledge.

Video time. SS max about 12 to 15 seconds. If motion continues, perhaps more with continued motion.

Cheap cams as long as pixals are changing. Short vids to minutes long. All os on SD cards.

Are my cheaps the do all end allm No!

There many similar brands available. Each has different features and ecosystems limitations without some $.

Does SS work with Alexa, Google Home etc.? Just for arming and disarming or used to.

Cheap cams yes. I hate both ecosystems and never use either. So?

Do SS integrate with anything whatsoever for automations? Lights etc? No! 

Cheap cams, have app automations, can be tricked into being Home Assistant compatible. Alexa etc. already mentioned.

Do SS cams & app allow manual sirens? No.

Cheap cams, Yes. I have automations and phone widgets to fire them all up if I want.

If smoke or CO is heard, cheap cams fire up their own cameras sirens and my phone intercepts notifications & also fire up sirens sounds on phone.

Will I be warned sooner if someone's walking toward my house? Yes with cheap cams, they see much further than SS. So no with SS, 30 feet or less at night.

SS cams, 1080p max.

Cheap cams up to 2.5k HD.

Can I record as long as I want with cheap cams? Yes. 24/7 SD cards, videos as long as needed as far as I know.

SS, 1 minute 5 seconds. Why? Battery cams. Cheap cams have no batteries.

I could go on but won't.

I could "never" convince you nor am I trying to.

You're hardcore SS and until a situation, God forbid, changes that & you always will be.

I'm just saying you're missing a lot of unseen motion, events & features. Like your lights, or garage doors etc.

When you're offering opposing views to new users for SS, don't forget that they may have bought just SS battery only cams and have cheap, weak wifi. Solar SS is only marginally better.
