Unable to install 2nd camera

We have a camera that I am trying to install in the garage.  The light is blinking, but it won't recognize the block code.  Tried several times.  The first camera eventually installed ok.  I can't call because I'm very hard of hearing and the phone connections are terrible.  I tried twice.  The first woman had a baby screaming in the background.  My problem might be caused by the fact that my garage is attached, but is behind a brick wall compared to the rest of the house.  Is this the problem?  If so, is there any way around it?  Is there a way to chat with or video SimpliSafe help people rather than call?

Thanks,     Lou

@loudornbach, unfortunately, online help chat was taken down months ago which is a shame as it was very effective.

To the trouble you are having, if you have the 24.99 "total command" plan, log into the website, go to you account, devices. and remove the camera from there if it listed. Click save and log off.  If it isn't there, there there can be several causes, two of which is either your wifi signal isn't strong enough, or, your camera is doing a software update and it takes a while.  If you confirm the camera is definitely not registered, try this.

Light up the area as much as possible. If your camera says its ready to scan the qr code, then hold your phone about an inch away and slowly move it out about to one foot and then back in.  Should read it in one round of movement. If not, possibly a neighbor can help you with the call to support.

Hope you get it installed.

Captain11,

Thank You.  It was probably the light.  I turned on the garage light and it installed the first time.  It's easy once you know what you're doing.  I'm glad you did.

Peace,     Lou

@loudornbach, I hardly know what I'm doing, just sometimes you have a scenario you have run across. Got lucky on this one. Glad it worked out, have a great weekend.
