Required Network Ports

I'm specifically interested in the ports that need to be open for the Cameras; but I'd like to know all the ports each SimpliSafe product uses so I can tune my firewall.  I my cameras were functional until something changed on SS side and the ports I had open for cameras (honestly, I can't remember which they were; got them off the forum somewhere) were no longer used.  Does anyone know a place where I can get this information (without calling support...they take forever to get on the ling for something that should be easily accessible)?

Unless you have made rules to specifically block all (or at least certain) outbound LAN traffic, I don't believe you should need to open any ports. I have not had to do that in either of two systems running three SS cameras in total.

I have default deny as my last rule on my firewall...as is best security practice.  I would assume a security company would appreciate best practice.

Nope. This stuff is geared for the typical home user no hassles setup. Plug-and-play, so to speak.

Some folks, as you probably know, put these sort of things on their own network or different subnet or even a guest WiFi sort of thing so they can phone home all they want, but don't have any access to your main network.

Can't you see the attempted rule violations/blocked camera stuff in the firewall logs and determine what to allow based on that?

If anyone else comes across this thread, I checked what pfSense was blocking and that needed to be allowed.

I see outbound calls from the SimpliSafe doorbell on only a few ports:

53 - DNS - reaching the gateway on my LAN which the device got from DHCP
123 UDP - externally to various IPs, presumably for time keeping using a public pool
8890 TCP - must be their data channel. Killing this state immediately kills live video from the doorbell.

I also had to unlock TCP port 9543
