Remote siren in outdoor cams

I tested for the first time the siren that is built in to the outdoor camera.  Stood outside in my driveway with my keypad, set system to home and then opened my garage door, which has an entry sensor on it with instant trigger in home mode.  As expected, alarm went off immediately with the door half open and both my backyard and front yard cameras sounded their respective sirens.  Unfortunately, once I shut off the alarm both continued to sound and my front doorbell camera pro went offline.  I suspect a signal strength issue the cameras but for SimpliSafe, any ideas?

Hmm that's concerning....

I had both of my outdoor cameras set to have their sirens 'on'. I figured it would be a good way to alert the neighborhood in case of an actual break in...but in the event of a false alarm, I wouldn't want them blaring and me unable to turn it off...

Guess I'll be switching them off then.

@Postman77 Before giving up on the remote sirens, suggest if you have the time test it like I did. The upload speed with the connection check was good but signal strength is only fair for both cameras.  A bit odd as there is a WIFI point not that far from both cameras and will attempt to get a better location for it.

If you do test, please post your outcome here. SS, feel free to chime in at any time!

@captain11 My connection test for both comes out with good results for everything.

I wish there was an easier way to test the sirens themselves. Id prefer not to set off a test alarm. A way to lower the volume of the siren temporarily would be nice too so as not to disturb our neighbors.

I could bring one of the cameras in and test it that way, but that would also probably defeat the purpose since the camera won't be in its usual location.

Sounds to me like SS sends ONE "off" command or whatever and if it does not go through for whatever reason, well, it never gets the OFF command to stop the siren.  My guess is that they are just assuming the command went though which would be dumb seeing these are wi-fi devices and poor ones at that.  Not only does the command need to be sent, but it needs to be verified it took place. I think this is even more true seeing you then lost your doorbell cam so it sounds like they are sending out a bunch of packets and, well, it is not going very well.

They had made a nice security system...But these cams are one of the worst I have worked with. Great idea, but someone is dropping the communications side and good logic flow.(IMHO)
