My outdoor cam records motion even when motion is turned off??

Turn camera off before turning lights on and make sure no one is out there doing any movement while shutting it off as I see it doing it to mine as well, if I'm out there and it is in record mode and I turn it off it will still continue to pick up movement but if nothing is going on out there and I turn it off then I'm good so I would try turning camera off before turn any chri lights on and see if that helps.
