If it is your home office/computer room, no, it would not be. If it is someone else's, yes,

I have 3 Simplicams that cover the entire first floor of my home. One is in my home office and covers that room, kitchen and part of the family room. As its in my house, no issue.
I just had a recent event from a curtain causing motion detected in the home office computer room due to windows open to keep the room cool when its nice and cool outside. Would having the security camera in that room help prevent the false alarm calls to the police and secondary contact

Using visual verification in itself will not stop the monitoring service from calling the police and secondary contact. They only use the visual verification to help you better understand what's going on. It does not give monitoring the ability to decide if it's a nuisance alarm or the real deal.
The bottom line is you have to answer the phone call from monitoring and provide the safe word to avoid police dispatch; that's the deal.
I don't know, allegedly you can set up to have them "verify" before dispatch using the cameras, but I have not experienced that and so can't say if and how reliably it works.
Visual verification is very useful. My wife and I were at work when the monitoring company called me seconds after I received a push alert on my phone the alarm had gone off. The agent advised me there were two women in my kitchen with a mop, vacuum cleaner and a duster quite upset and talking fast and loud. I advised him no need to disptach the police and then called our cleaning service to remind their associates to make sure they call as instructed so either my wife or I could remotely shut off the alarm.
