I understand there is a vertical wedge but is there a horizontal angle wedge/mounting plate?

I've seen mentions of the doorbell being shipped with a vertical angle mount (so that one can tip down or up slightly).  I'm wondering if there is a horizontal angle like Blink offers?  I think they have the ability to do 15, 30 and 45 degrees.

hi @masonfoley ,

Yes, the Video Doorbell Pro comes with a vertical wedge, primarily for mounting on angled siding. And yes, we also have a horizontal wedge that can turn the camera by 15°. It's available via our Support team.

@davey_d Good info.  Anythig you can do to get it on your online product catalog will be great.

@masonfoley  There are many alternatives to mount your doorbell pro; suggest you search Amazon, Etsy or eBay and you will find options for your needs.

I've found mine here: https://ebay.us/V5csuV for anyone else looking for horizontal angles

Hello, I just installed my doorbell today and realize I need a horizontal wedge to fully use the camera. It looks as if others have encountered this issue. Does SimpliSafe sell one? What solutions has everyone come up with? Thanks in advance!

@erica_lindq easydawg's post is a start, but if you want a different mount you can easily find alternatives on Amazon or Etsy. There are many to choose from.

Hi @erica_lindq,

If you contact our Support team, they can send a horizontal wedge over to you!

An FYI for anyone pursuing this issue more recently. I contacted Simplisafe about this - my doorbell is installed perpendicular to my door, so I needed a sharp angle wedge. They sent me a 15 degree wedge and said they don't have 30 or 45s. I did get the rep to send me 2 additional kits and I'll try stacking them all together for a 45 degree turn.

I also need a couple horizontal wedges for my doorbell cam.  I never received any when I purchased it and my doorbell is perpendicular to my front door.

Any help Simplisafe?

@larsenrsOur Support team can send you a Horizontal Wedge Kit to turn your Video Doorbell 15°. And as Captain11 mentioned, options are also available on Etsy.

@emily_s (and original poster @davey_d): your support team has no clue what a horizontal widge kit is.  I called and spent a good 20 minutes (maybe more) trying to explain it and what is needed.  In the end, they sent me another vertical wedge, like the one that came with the doorbell.

So, if such a thing really exists - a horizontal wedge kit (to rotate the the doorbell around a veritcal axis so that it points at the person in front of the door) - then how can you order, get it, tell your "support" team so they know exactly what you're talking about and get the correct thing from them???

Not trying to belabor this issue, but I wanted to quickly follow-up with my SimpliSafe experience and a horizontal wedge.  So, I guess I 'complained' enough (which I really didn't - just the one call to support and the posting here), but I received a call from the "special" support team regarding this issue.  The individual - D**** - apologized for the confusion, assured me that a horizontal wedge did truly exist, and that he would send one to me right away.

That was about 2 weeks ago - and nothing!  No horizontal wedge, no follow-up (email or otherwise), nothing.

Anyway, IMHO, SimpliSafe is not so good (and I regret going with them), and this incident is just another example.  So, in the end, look for horizontal wedges for SimpliSafe doorbells elsewhere.

My old doorbell is mounted on the side of window frame and at a doorknob height, so the mounting kit included won't work.

Now, I need to find and pay for another mounting kit that can be adjusted to angle out and up in order to capture the full picture of who is ringing the bell.  SimplySafe doorbell looks slick probably works well (I don't know because I haven't able to use it since I got it a week ago).

It costed me $22.95 (before tax) for each. I am buying two, one for my house and another one for mom's house.  Most of the US homes built in 80s & 90s have doorbell on the side of the door/window frame, FYI SimpliSafe.
