Doorbell base chime delay

There is a 4 second delay between the chime on the doorbell itself (not the mechanical, which I did not install) when I press it and the chime from the base station? Is this a feature? A bug? How do i get rid of it?

Im holding the router in my hand 1ft away from doorbell, doesnt get any better signal than this.

Did you happen to install your Video Doorbell with a USB adapter? You describe a similar issue to this user.

Hi,

No, I use a regular transformer for power. Just like the usual doorbell hookup...

@kleeorin​ ah, okay. Perhaps there may still be a difference in the circuit if the bell itself is not present.

But there might also be an issue with the connection via the app. This is how your Base Station and Video Doorbell connect together:

Video Doorbell <--> WiFi <--> Our website servers (app) <--> WiFi/Cell <--> Base Station

The issue could be in one of these connections in between.

When you use the Connection Check tool in the SimpliSafe app, what do you see? You can find it by navigating to Menu > My System > Camera Settings > [your doorbell camera] > Connection > Connection Strength.
