Changing my outdoor battery

Before I change my batterie in my outdoor camera do I have to do anything like shut the camera off? I don't want to have to go through all the camera setups every time I change the battery.

Hi richardgaspa,

Nope, just take the camera down, open it up, and either take out the battery or charge, or swap out with a charged one. The camera should power on again and reconnect on its own.

I have had no problem changing batteries in my four outdoor cameras but I just changed the battery in one and it will not start up again. No white blinking light. It will chime but nothing else. I have tried three different charged batteries with no luck. (I did reset it when it would not work initially so I'm trying to add it again as a new camera.)

@Terrie​ Thanks for reporting! If resetting/re-adding the camera doesn't help to get it back online and working again, that may indicate an issue with the battery or the camera itself.

In that case, I highly recommend contacting our Support team so they can take a deeper look into this and send out a replacement if needed.

I changed the battery and the camera started operating right away. However, it now sends motion warnings every 5-10 minutes. Why?

Are these notifications alerting you that your Outdoor Camera is detecting motion? You can adjust the motion sensitivity of your camera to receive fewer notifications. We detail how to do this over in our Help Center.
