Camera Won't Send Notifications at Night

I seem to get motion notifications during the day when the alarm is ‘off’, but not at night regardless of alarm state and even when notifications are still turned on.

Seems like it might be something to do with when the camera is in night vision for some reason…

@jonnielewisfilm We converted your comment into its own post so we can troubleshoot further here.

There are a few questions we have to help get to the bottom of this:

  • Does your camera record at night at all?
  • Are you able to livestream at night, and do you see the image in Night Vision Mode?
  • How high is the camera from the ground (i.e. how far is it from potential subjects)?
  • When you try to trigger the camera at night, do you see it blinking as if it's trying to record?

Hello,

Turns out 2/4 of my cameras don’t send notifications even when they’re set to do-so.

My garage back door camera sends notifications as it should so long as it is daytime. It still records motion at night.

My driveway camera sends notifications and records during the day. I haven’t checked it at night.

My front door camera records motion but does not send notifications day or night.

My back garden camera records motion but does not send notifications day or night.

Front garden, driveway and garden are set to notify when alarm is in Home or Away, but not off.

Garage back door is set to notify in all alarm states.

all cameras are on software V1.35.1.180

All cameras are able to livestream at all times.

@jonnielewisfilm got it, thank you for these details! Since it sounds like your cameras are still reocrding motion as they should during both day and night, we would recommend checking out this troubleshooting guide in our Help Center for next steps.
