Camera won't reset

My indoor camera which is outside under my porch with the outdoor kit won't reset.  We had a power outage and now it won't come back online.  I am 1000 miles away so rescanning the qr code isn't a current option.  I have gone through all the settings and had a neighbor hold down the button on top to try to reset and still nothing.  Any other advice?

This won't fix your current problem but may be worth implementing for future issues - consider installing a smart plug so that you can remotely, via WiFi, reset power to your cameras. This can also be a great idea for your base station as well though since it has battery back up you'd have to wait a while for it to finally run out of juice. This won't help with having to do a manual reset of devices but given how far away you live and home sometimes you need a reboot to fix an issue this may not be a bad idea.

@worthing this is a brilliant idea and I can't believe I didn't think of it myself. I have smart plugs all over my house!

Seriously, when are y'all going to hire me? I can update and add to your existing knowledge base and engage with the community with ideas like the one above. (Which should totally be worth a free month or two of service. :P )

Hi @verbankhandf ,

Sorry to hear about the trouble you're having. Did your neighbor mention if the camera's LED indicator is lighting up? Not only do we want to know that it's actually powered at all, but if it's showing some kind of error.

But doing the reset (holding the button for 16 seconds) will fully wipe the camera, so you would have to go through setup - including scanning the QR code.
