camera memory card

can anyone advise as to the memory card specs... any limits on the memory? I assume it's a micro sd card..

So even though there is a slot for a memory card, putting one in won't actually do anything?

@acrftr , there is no memory card slot. All storage of historical clips is in the cloud. (remotely). There is a very small amount of internal memory in the camera that allows for a feature called "pre-roll". This cycles the last 10 seconds the lens sees if the privacy guard is configured to be open. For example camera in your family room is configured to have privacy guard open in "away mode". If there is an alarm, the Simplicam will provide a video clip of 10 seconds before the alarm happens + during and after.

Install your SimpliCams

Slide the stand off the camera.
Insert the Micro-USB into the
port on the back of the camera.

Replace the stand, and plug
the cord into a power outlet.

Launch the SimpliSafe app on your
smartphone to begin installation.

The manual is referring to the Micro-USB cable/connector cord port (not card). It connects the camera to the power source (outlet).

Simpliworthless does not allow memory in their devices. They FORCE you to buy their service. WYZE is what I use for all recording devices. Never had an issues with years of trouble free service with WYZE products. Inexpensive to boot !
