Has anyone had an issue with feedback noise on your simplicam? We get a squealing noise and loud ticking noise constantly while recording or not. Is there a fix for this?

I've had my system for 9 months. All at once, my outdoor cam starting making loud buzzing/vibrating noises after I said something through it. It wouldn't stop until I closed the live camera view. I knew something had to be different for this to just start out of nowhere. I finally realized the only thing that had changed was I had my cordless vacuum on the charger and that charger was on the same circuit as one of my indoor cams. After I unplugged the cordless vacuum the noise was gone. Hope this helps.
I got the SimpliSafe indoor camera last week and now after installing when I watch the live feed, its sounding like a matchbox being shaken constantly. I had read about the noise before buying but thought that it would be fixed by now but unfortunately SimpliSafe hasn't fixed the issue yet. I wonder why it has been there for this long? Are SimpliSafe engineers not qualified enough? Any idea how I can stop this noise?
This is my first indoor camera. Should it be making such a loud squeaky noise? I turned off the ceiling fan but it still makes a lot of noise. Is there something I can do about it?
Just to add on my experience... We just purchased our first indoor camera yesterday and the first time I'm listening to the live stream this morning, I hear this awful clicking sound that seems to mirror the other complaints in this thread. I've tried it through both the Android app and the web app and the sound comes through in both as well as in the recordings. It's disappointing because the basic sensor components of our system seem to work great as well as the Video Doorbell camera but I'm not very impressed with the outdoor camera and now to see the indoor camera suffering from issues as well makes me wonder if we made the wrong decision buying in to the SimpliSafe platform as a whole.
@rpd2459new Yeah it's caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI) from the camera electronics (mainly 2 chips) that sit right near where the microphone is. I took one of our indoor cameras down and opened it up to see if that was the cause and moving the front cover where the microphone is located away from the cameras PCB board with all the electronics made the noise go away almost completely, but because of the short cables on the microphone couldn't move it far enough away to eliminate it completely.
I am new SimpliSafe user and I am experiencing the indoor camera noise that has been reported here. I have two indoor cameras and get the noise on both although, it seems much louder on one than the other. I have the noise when live-streaming and on recordings. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
@almann23 I've been in contact with someone at SimpliSafe and I don't want to say much as I will let them announce it when they are ready, but something is coming soon to resolve the issue and let me just say once it's announced you will be very happy.
Hello, I just installed my new camera and spent 2 hours trying everything to make this noise stop. It's exactly like a cartoon timer with a screech. I've moved it all over the house and even deleted it and reinstalled...no noises in my basement where it is...any solutions? This is brand new...
We just received our cameras ( a whole indoor/outdoor system). We have set
up two inside cameras and the doorbell. The doorbell is fine but the indoor cameras are CRAZY! Screeching and static. The outdoor cameras are not set up yet. I hope we don’t have the same issue with those.
@rmthomas1990 SimpliSafe is aware of the indoor camera issue and has a fix coming soon! So just hold out a little bit and they will have everyone taken care of that has this issue. The only issue for the outdoor cameras (I've reported this to the engineer I have been speaking with that involved the indoor camera issue) is it will very faintly pickup interference from the WiFi but it's not noticeable unless there is no sound and even then it's pretty faint but they are aware of it now.
@captssharma As mentioned many times now at the end of the thread and the pinned mod comment here, there is a fix coming from SimpliSafe soon for this issue, just hang in there.
When using the live feed from my video camera, I hear noise like loud running water through the app. This occurs even when 25+ feet away in another room.
@pdpautz If you unplug the cameras for 10 to 15 seconds then plug back in the static will disappear. I believe it has to do with a bottleneck of video information while processing. This is an engineering issue. Nothing a little tweak won't fix!
Is there ever gonna be an update or something to fix all of the noise that comes through these cameras. Sometimes they work a little sometimes it just whistles sometimes you can't hear it clicks all the time.. Multiple cameras at different locations so I know it's not just the Internet. It's definitely the cameras.

originally titled Camera shitty audio
I only have one, indoor camera. When pressing the mic icon on the app and speaking at a normal volume, one can barely hear it from the camera. Customer Service said " the volume level is fixed." Whether this is remedied with a software or hardware solution should not be that difficult. At the very least, it should be possible to route the audio to the base station, which does have several preset volume levels.
Thank you for reporting. Yes, this is a known issue that our engineering team is still investigating. We'll keep you updated when we're closer to a solution.
Apologies, but that is correct, there is currently no volume setting for the speaker on the Indoor Camera, and it's already set at the max volume. The Indoor Camera doesn't connect to the Base Station directly (they talk to each other through the website/app), so there's no way to route the audio to the Base Station, either.
But I'll definitely pass on your feedback to our engineering team.
I also have the same issue with the new indoor camera. It makes a constant static cracking sound over the audio. Please let me know the solution to fix it or replace it.

Have two indoor cameras and I also have a weird rhythmic ticking and some white noise mixed in there with it... Live and when recorded.

We are having the exact same issue. The static sound and the squealing is simply frightening and sounds somewhat like a water leak.....
Can somebody from SIMPLISAFE fix this ASAP.

My video camera live produces a sound like running water on the app, even from at least 25 feet away in another room.

SimpliSafe
come on guys
this has been a known issue for at least 2 years and no fix
If you are not or cannot fix it at least be honest with your customers and tell them you cannot do it.
then we can make a decision to keep or not.
totally not acceptable to just say “ we are working on it but will take some time”.
set a date to roll out the fix or give us the information we need to make an informed decision
not cool SimpliSafe
total BS excuse
