Thanks . I didn’t want to purchase the entire sensor, just the magnet strip so that I can open the window at a second level but still be able to arm the system. is that possible.
@danrozett apologies. I see that the Extra Magnet is currently not up on our website as an individual item. But our Sales team should be able to put the order in for you!
@davey_d Any plans for the company to have that item put up on the site? Ordering items over the phone isn't really conducive to time management. I imagine not many customers enjoy calling customer service in general. Especially not to buy a mystery item that had to be inquired about to learn of it's existence.
It was actually on the site as a separate item, previously. I made the error of assuming it still was. It's certainly possible, and I'll forward your suggestion to our ecommerce team.
I decided to just buy some small magnets and double sided tape them on the window sash. Just be sure you get small bar magnets, with N/S on both ends. Many flat "refrigerator" type magnets are magnetized N/S across their face, and won't work. K&J Magnetics sells #'s B228-N52 and B22X0 that both worked.
It would help if you listed magnet dimensions as well. What is the size of the thinner magnet? I have casement windows with screens and it is a really tight fit.
Just chiming in that I want the same thing (two magnets per window, so that I can have a secure-closed and a secure-slightly-open position). I tried ordering through the support line when I purchased my new system, but what I was sent were just the magnet supports, not the actual magnets themselves (I guess I could move the magnet each time, but not really what I am going for...)
Given the entire entry sensor is only $14.99, it seems stand-alone magnets should be an easy task. Even having two SKUs (a single magnet SKU, and a dual-magnet SKU) shouldn't be too challenging. I imagine it is a *very* common installation style.
I think SimpliSafe could care less about us looking for thin magnets. I spoke to a guy this morning in customer service pretty much said oh well don’t use our system. Horrible customer service and I have not even received my new system yet and being treated horribly. On to another company.
@xrayman55 the magnet piece should work, but we recommend using the magnets designed for the Entry Sensor. If you need extra magnets, our Support team can send them to you. They can also send the thinner slim magnet if you need a smaller option for your setup.
Can you please just put them on the website? It is 2025, who has time to call the support team?
By the way, I tried that recommendation a while back - what I got sent were the magnet supports (the piece with the double-sided stick on it, that the magnet attaches to). The person I talked to seemed confused about the whole thing (obviously, given what I received)...

Will a Ring sensor magnet work on this system since those can be bought without a sensor.
