Opening front door makes alarm arm itself to "away" mode

Sometimes when I trigger an entry sensor such as my garage door or front door, the alarm will arm itself in away mode. My wife has family visiting and they are doing activities in the front yard today and the alarm has armed itself twice. It happens occasionally with the garage door but it seems to happen more often with the front door. I have talked to SimpliSafe customer support several times about this and they tell me the same thing every time. We have re-installed our apps, updated the app, restarted everything, etc. It does not work. What could be the issue?

@craigdnewland This is quite odd, and certainly something we would want our Technical team to investigate further. I have opened up a ticket with the team on your behalf. Someone will be in touch soon, so please keep an ear out for their call.

So... I had a dog sitter use the remote control that can turn on/off the alarm... It turns out she returned the remote to me many months ago by putting it under the door mat at my front door... So sometimes when we would walk in or out the front door we step directly on the remote under the door mat which would set the alarm. This is no longer a problem for me.

@craigdnewland I too have posted several times over the  years "strange" events with my system only to eventually find out it was self inflected, or as my wife says, an "ID10T" error, which of course she learned from me for the many years our company IT dept reported to me.  :-)   Thanks for posting, as I type with a smile on my face and my wife smiles along with me.  Have a great week!
