Smoke & CO Detector
If you see a “Malfunctioned” error for your Smoke Detector, Carbon Monoxide Detector, or Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Detector, that means that the device should be replaced as soon as possible. If your device is still within warranty, please contact our Support team to receive a replacement.

When the Smoke Detector detects particulate consistent with smoke, it will sound the alarm to notify you of the potential hazard. The Smoke Detector takes one (1) Panasonic CR-123A Lithium 3V battery and has a life expectancy between 3-5 years depending on usage. To change your Smoke Detector battery, twist it off its bracket and open the back panel. Then, replace the lithium battery and put the device back in place.
