Packing and Moving Your SimpliSafe® Devices

Moving is hard enough - Let us help make it easier!
When it’s time for you to move, give us a call at 888-692-0229 and we will provide you with a Mover's Kit, which includes packaging for your sensors and accessories, new adhesives, and more! We can also go over your options for your monitoring plan, to make sure you stay covered as soon as you’re ready to settle into your next home.
Disarm Your System
Before we get started, it’s important that you fully disarm your system to prevent false alarms. To do this, follow these steps:
Make sure your system is disarmed by setting the Keypad or SimpliSafe® app to OFF mode.
Unplug the Base Station and use a Philips-head screwdriver to remove the battery compartment. Once that is done, remove a single battery from the unit.
Remove SimpliSafe® Devices
When you’re ready to pack up your devices, remove the adhesive strips from the wall with a firm grip. They should pull away easily, but if you have any trouble here are a few removal tips:
If your sensor is in a bracket, remove the sensor before attempting to remove the adhered bracket
Try rotating the device to loosen the adhesives’ grip
Slide dental floss between the adhesive and the wall to loosen its’ grip
After removing the sensors and adhesive, pack up the devices using the materials provided in our Mover's Kit (give us a call at 888-692-0229 to request it!). Then, label the sensors to save time when setting up your new home.
Are you leaving any SimpliSafe® Devices Behind?
If you plan on leaving any devices behind, you’ll need to remove them from your system during this process. To remove devices from your system, follow these steps:
Open the SimpliSafe® app
Select My System from the navigation menu at the bottom of the app
Then choose either Device Settings or Camera Settings
Select the device you want to leave behind
Scroll to the bottom and choose Remove Device or Camera
Repeat for each sensor, Smart Lock, or Camera being separated from your system
Update Your Address For Monitoring
Once your devices are packed up and you’re ready to move, be sure to update your address in the SimpliSafe® Mobile App.
Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your phone or tablet
Choose My System on the bottom navigation bar
Under Location Information, tap on Address
Enter your new address
Select SAVE in the upper right corner of the screen to save your selections
You may need to confirm your address on a pop-up. This is standard address validation to ensure your address is correct in the event you require emergency services to be dispatched to your location
