How to Connect a SimpliSafe System to Wi-Fi

Does your Keypad look like the one pictured to the left? Then you're in the right place! You've got the Gen 3 SimpliSafe system. If you purchased a system in 2017 or earlier, you have the Original SimpliSafe. If you're not certain which system you have, you can tell the difference here.

Your Gen 3 SimpliSafe system can connect to Wi-Fi to provide an alternative connection to our monitoring center and a slightly faster refresh time for the mobile apps and web app. It also provides access to firmware updates.

Follow the steps below to connect your system to Wi-Fi.

Via the Mobile App

  1. Open the main menu

  2. Tap My System

  3. Choose General Settings

  4. Tap Wi-Fi Network

    1. Your device will automatically begin scanning for available networks

    2. Ensure your Wi-Fi network is discoverable

  5. Choose the correct Wi-Fi Network

  6. Enter the password for your Wi-Fi Network

  7. Tap Connect

Via the Keypad

  1. Press the "Menu" button on your Keypad and enter your 4-digit Master PIN when prompted.

  2. Navigate to System Settings and select it by pressing the right rocker.

  3. Navigate to Wi-Fi and select it. After a few moments, your Keypad will display a list of available networks.

  4. Scroll to the network you'd like to connect to and press the right rocker to select it.

  5. Enter your network password. The Base Station will attempt to connect to the network and the Keypad will notify you of the result.

    1. If unsuccessful, you will be asked to verify your password by re-entering it.
