What are Emergency Contacts?

Emergency Contacts are the phone numbers that are contacted in the event of an alarm. You can list up to 5 Emergency Contacts on your account in a single contact list.

How alarm calls work

If your alarm is triggered, Securitas will attempt to call the Emergency Contacts listed on your account in the order listed. If the first Emergency Contacts does not answer, they will move on to the next listed contact.

Emergency Contacts play an important role in helping confirm whether an alarm is genuine or false. For this reason, every contact listed should:

  • know they are listed as an Emergency Contact on your account

  • be willing and able to answer calls from Securitas

  • understand what it means to be contacted about an alarm at your property

  • know your safeword (opens in new tab), so they can help cancel a false alarm where appropriate

If someone is unlikely to answer, does not recognise Securitas' number, or is not comfortable taking this kind of call, they should not be listed as an Emergency Contact.

Saving the Monitoring Centre Phone Numbers

To avoid missed alarm calls, we strongly recommend that you and all your emergency contacts save Securitas' phone numbers (opens in new tab):

  • Securitas will contact you from: 0330 184 0444

  • You can contact Securitas on: 0303 330 0369

  • Test Mode Automated Call: 01908 644505

Once saved to your phone, you’ll also want to allow us access to bypass Do Not Disturb and Silent Profiles (opens in new tab). This allows for Critical Alarm Notifications to get through to you, regardless of your phone’s volume or profile status.

Why does everyone need to know the safeword?

If an alarm turns out to be false, the safeword may be needed to confirm this and cancel the alarm with Securitas. All emergency contacts should know the correct safeword if called.
