Outdoor Camera is not Live Streaming

An easy first step to take is to check the Outdoor Camera’s battery and rule this out as a potential issue. The Outdoor Camera battery takes up to 6 hours to fully charge (opens in new tab) and has a life expectancy of 3 months on a single charge – depending on usage and placement.

You can check the battery level of your camera (opens in new tab) at any time on the Cameras tab within the SimpliSafe® App or from your Online Account.

1. Untwist the lens cover off the body of your Outdoor Camera

2. Remove the battery from the camera by gently pulling on the battery tab

3. Connect the battery to power using the in-box USB charging cable

   1. You must use a wall charger that provides at least 1.5A of power or higher

   2. If the three lights on the battery do not all light up, it is not fully charged

      1. This can take a few minutes to appear, so be sure to plug it in and check back shortly after!

4. Ensure your battery is into the camera with the three metal dots lined up with the metal lines inside the camera and the tab facing out

5. Check to see if the lens of the camera is aligned with the speaker facing down and tightened fully
