The Water Sensor alerts you to leaks and flooding, helping you prevent expensive water damage. They are always sensing, whether your system is armed or not.
We won’t request dispatch of emergency services for water alarms, but with professional monitoring you’ll receive an courtesy call letting you know about the alarm.

The Water Sensor should be placed on the floor where there is a risk of leaks, flooding, or broken plumbing. We recommend putting the Water Sensor in a laundry room, basement, or underneath a sink.
How to add the Water Sensor in the SimpliSafe® Mobile App
Open the SimpliSafe® Mobile App on your smartphone or tablet
Navigate to the three-bar menu on the upper left corner and select Add Device or Camera
Select Temperature Sensor from the list of available products
How to Pair the Water Sensor to Your System
Press and release the setup button on the top of the device
Once the setup button has been pressed, the Base Station should say “Water Sensor”
Choose a name for the device by selecting one of our pre-populated names, or select Custom Name at the bottom of the screen to input your own
Where to Put the Water Sensor
Bring the Water Sensor to its desired location if you have not already
We recommend placing the Water Sensor in laundry areas, basements, underneath a sink, or near water heaters and Boilers
For the simplest installation, place your Water Sensor on the floor
The device should be placed on a flat surface; other items touching the contacts on the bottom of the device can cause false alarms
